Something truly remarkable happens, to my eyes, when you find a subject you like and you shoot it using a medium format camera. On one of my wanderings around Auckland I found a business that had this ‘eye’ painted on their building entrance. It was a business day so the door was open, so I made a mental note to go back on a Sunday morning. At the time I first saw the artwork I had my Leica M6 + CV50 3.5 on me and the 35mm negative wouldn’t have done justice to it. My new Mamiya Universal Press 6×7 neg was perfect.
And on the way home I spotted this. Great artwork with a message. A little BMW in front gives context.
